Blogger and Collector
Things accumulate. This applies to objects and knowledge. I bought a copy of PM magazine every month for almost 20 years. At the end I had a huge pile of yellow magazines that survived several moves.
Knowledge also becomes huge when someone devotes themselves to something regularly over a long period of time, even if it is only a few hours a week. For example, I know a few people who have been training the Japanese martial art Aikido for decades, although sometimes only once or twice a week for a few hours.
I think this experience could be a lever to finally start this blog, which has been plodding along for a few years now. It once had 30 or 40 articles before I decided to change the web space provider (and domain). But that's another story. Little by little I will revise these articles and publish them again.
The topic I want to write about here is another one that I have been thinking about for far too long. Let's call it "ideas and creative activities", where ideas refers to the essence of a book I'm currently reading, or to a (rare) idea of my own.
And finally, I should perhaps mention the software I use to publish here. It's a static page generator. A program that creates HTML pages that I can upload directly to a web server. I use Pelican, which is based on the Python programming language. No WordPress, although you could write very comfortably on it and publish directly from the writing environment. The reasons for this are another story.
So that's the intention: From today (Tuesday, February 4, 2025) I will write a few blog articles per month and publish them here.
That should be doable!
